Dr. Marlon is the Chairman
of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Sierra Health Services,
Inc., a publicly traded healthcare company headquartered in Las
Vegas, Nevada.
As Sierra's founder and
chief executive, Dr. Marlon is responsible for the overall operation
of and long-term planning for the Company that employs approximately
3,500 people. Sierra Health Services is comprised of a family of
health-related subsidiaries including Health Plan of Nevada, Nevada's
oldest and largest HMO, and CII Financial, Inc. that writes workers'
compensation insurance through its wholly owned subsidiaries.
Dr. Marlon, a cardiologist
by training, completed his internship, residency, and cardiology
fellowship at Stanford University from 1967 -1972.
Dr. Newhouse is the John D. MacArthur Professor of Health Policy
and Management at Harvard University, Director of the Division of
Health Policy Research and Education, chair of the Committee on
Higher Degrees in Health Policy, and Director of the Interfaculty
Initiative in Health Policy. He is a member of the faculties of
the John F. Kennedy School of Government, the Harvard Medical School,
the Harvard School of Public Health, and the Faculty of Arts and
Sciences, as well as a Faculty Research Associate of the National
Bureau of Economic Research. He received B.A. and Ph.D. degrees
in Economics from Harvard University. Following his Bachelors degree,
he was a Fulbright Scholar in Germany. Dr. Newhouse spent the first
twenty years of his career at RAND, where he designed and directed
the RAND Health Insurance Experiment, which studied the consequences
of different ways of financing medical services. From 1981 to 1985
he was Head of the RAND Economics Department.
In 1981 he became the founding editor of the Journal of Health Economics,
and is on the editorial board of the New England Journal of Medicine.
He has been the vice-Chair of the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission,
has been elected to the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy
of Sciences, and has served two terms on its governing Council.
He has also been elected a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts
and Sciences and the American Association for the Advancement of
Science. Dr. Newhouse is a past President of the Association for
Health Services Research and of the International Health Economics
Association and is the inaugural President of the American Society
of Health Economists. He has served as a regent of the National
Library of Medicine.
Dr. Newhouse has received numerous awards for his research and writings
including the David N. Kershaw Award and Prize of the Association
for Public Policy, the Baxter Health Services Research and the Kenneth
J. Arrow Award (for How Does Managed Care Do It?).

Tasker
Mr. Tasker is currently Founder and CEO of Bluespec, a
manufacturer of next-generation Electronic Design Automation (EDA)
toolsets. Prior to Bluespec, Mr. Tasker was the president and CEO
of Phase Forward, a software and service solution vendor for the
data collection and management of clinical trials of new drugs and
devices. Mr. Tasker also served as Sr. Vice President for Worldwide
Sales, Consulting Services and Corporate Marketing at Viewlogic
Systems Inc, a supplier of complex electronic design automation
tools for Integrated Circuit and Printed Circuit Board design.
Mr. Tasker spent eight
years at Cadence Design Systems in a variety of roles in marketing
and general management with ever increasing responsibility for product
lines and larger P&Ls.
Mr. Tasker holds an MBA
from the University of Texas at Arlington and a BS from the University
of Bombay in Statistics and Economics. He was recently honored by
Mass Hi-Tech as an All-Star.
